Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s name was not included when the 15-man squad for the ODI World Cup 2023 was announced. Now Ashwin has shared a video on social media, in which he was seen practicing with a white ball at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). During this time NCA head VVS Laxman and NCA spin coach Sairaj Bahutule were also seen there with him.
Ravichandran Ashwin played his last match for the Indian team in white-ball cricket in the T-20 World Cup last year. Since then he has not been part of the limited overs team. However, it was hoped that the ODI World Cup would be held in India and in such a scenario, Ashwin could prove to be very useful with the ball on home pitches.
My kinda day 🤩🤩.
The capacity to learn is a gift.
The ability to learn is a skill. However, the willingness to learn is a CHOICE. #cricketlife
Thank you for the help @SairajBahutule @VVSLaxman281 pic.twitter.com/4nK7V5IthS— Ashwin 🇮🇳 (@ashwinravi99) September 15, 2023
Along with posting the video on social media, Ashwin has said, “My best day.” You have to constantly learn something new and that is a skill too. Thank you VVS Laxman and Sairaj Bahutule.
Ravi Ashwin recently said on his YouTube channel, I have been playing for the Indian team for the last 14 to 15 years. During this time I have seen both good and bad times. Indian cricket will always be closest to my heart. I am always ready to give my 100 percent if the team ever needs me. Let us tell you that in the year 2011, when the Indian team won the ODI World Cup title under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ashwin was also a part of the team.
