Sri Lanka batsman made a shameful record against India, lost 4 wickets after scoring just one run
The 33rd match of the World Cup is being played between India and Sri Lanka. This match is being played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In this match, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bowl first, but their decision proved completely wrong. India scored 357 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. The Sri Lankan team chasing this big target from India got off to a poor start with both their openers getting out on the very first ball.
The Sri Lankan team lost 4 wickets for just 3 runs. Out of these 3 runs by Sri Lanka, only 1 run came from the bat and the remaining 2 runs came as extras. Let me tell you, when has this happened in the history of ODI cricket, when more wickets have fallen on a minimum score. The list is topped by Pakistan who lost 4 wickets for just 1 run against West Indies in 2015.
Second in the list is the Sri Lankan team, which scored just one run batting against India in 2023 i.e. today and lost the top four wickets. Third in the list is Ireland who lost the top four wickets in 2007 against Australia by scoring just 2 runs. In this list, the name of Pakistan cricket team is once again included at number 4 which lost 4 wickets by scoring only 3 runs against West Indies in 1993.
Apart from this, the name of the England team is at the fifth position in this list, which lost 4 wickets by scoring only 3 runs while batting against Australia in 2018. However, coming to today’s match, while chasing India’s huge target, the Sri Lankan team was bowled out for just 55 runs and lost the match by 302 runs. This became India’s biggest win in the World Cup and the second biggest in World Cup history.
