Yashasvi Jaiswal completes 150 runs in debut Test, achieves this special milestone as an opener
The first match of the 2-match Test series between India and West Indies is being played at Dominica. Yashaswi Jaiswal, who is playing his Test debut on the third day’s play, has joined a special club by completing 150 runs. Yashaswi is the third player to achieve this feat on debut for India.
Yashaswi Jaiswal also became the youngest player from India to score 150 runs in his debut Test match. Yashaswi did this feat at the age of 21 years and 196 days. Yashaswi is also the 5th youngest player in the history of Test cricket to do so. Former Pakistan legend Javed Miandad became the youngest in Test history to score 150 runs in his debut match.
Yashaswi Jaiswal also became the first Indian player to score 150 runs in his debut Test match outside the country. In this match, Yashaswi’s innings ended on 171 runs. On the second day of the first Test, Yashaswi Jaiswal became the 17th Indian player to do so in Test cricket by scoring a century on his debut. Shikhar Dhawan holds the record for most runs on debut for India, which he scored against Australia at the Mohali ground. Yashaswi holds the first position in terms of playing most balls in debut Test innings for India. Yashaswi faced a total of 387 balls during the innings of 171 runs.
