Bullet of Yusuf Pathan bat in T10 match, hit 80 runs in just 26 balls
Former Indian cricketer Yusuf Pathan has made a splash in the Zim Afro T10 League. He has batted fast while playing for Joburg Buffaloes. Yusuf Pathan played an unbeaten innings of 80 runs with the help of nine sixes. His innings saw Joburg beat Durban Qalandars by 6 wickets in the first qualifier. With this win, Joburg has booked a place in the finals. The final match of the T-10 league will be played in Harare on July 29.
Batting first, Durban was given a target of 141 runs. In reply, Joburg won the match by losing 4 wickets in 9.5 overs. Pathan came to bat at number four for the team. He scored an unbeaten 80 off 26 balls. His innings included 9 sixes and 4 fours. Pathan continued to bat till the end. In return for his innings, Joburg made it to the finals. The team defeated Durban by 6 wickets in the first qualifier. From Joburg, opener Mohammad Hafeez scored 17 runs in 8 balls. Mushfiqur Rahim scored 14 runs unbeaten.
Earlier, the Durban team scored 140 runs in 10 overs losing 4 wickets. Opener Mirza Baig scored 20 runs in 16 balls for the team. He hit 2 fours and 1 six. George Linde was dismissed for just 1 run. Andre Fletcher scored 39 runs off 14 balls. His innings included 3 sixes and 4 fours. Asif Ali remained unbeaten on 32 runs off 12 balls. He hit 5 fours and 1 six. Nick Welch faced 9 balls and scored 24 not out. His innings included 3 fours and 1 six.
Let it be known that the Joburg team will now play the final match on July 29. Its final will be from the team that wins the second qualifier. Durban will face the winner of the eliminator in the second qualifier. Cape Town Samp Army and Harare Hurricanes are competing in the eliminator.
