World Cup : Spectators will not be able to watch the practice match between Pakistan and New Zealand in the stadium, BCCI gave the reason
The ODI World Cup will start from October 5 in India. Before that all teams will participate in practice matches. The Pakistan team is scheduled to play two practice matches at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The team will take on New Zealand on September 29 and Australia on October 3. Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has said that spectators will not be able to watch the practice match between Pakistan and New Zealand at the stadium.
In fact, spectators will not be allowed inside the stadium due to Ganesh Visharan and Milan Un Nabi on September 29. Pakistan last toured India for the T20 World Cup in 2016. The two countries only play each other in Asia Cup and ICC tournaments due to strained relations.
The BCCI released a statement on Monday. It said, “The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 warm-up match between New Zealand and Pakistan scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on September 29 will now be held behind closed doors as per the advice of local security agencies. A huge crowd is expected due to a festival in Hyderabad on the day of the match. Fans who purchased tickets for the game will be fully refunded.
