IND vs AUS T20: Australian squad announced for five-match T20 series against India, Matthew Wade to captain
The Australian squad for the five-match T20 series against India has been announced. Wicketkeeper batsman Matthew Wade has been given the command of the team. Wade is Australia’s second captain in the T20 format after the retirement of Aaron Finch. Earlier, Mitchell Marsh was given the captaincy on the tour of South Africa. However, now Wade is also being tried. The T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held next year and Wade has been handed the temporary captaincy in such a situation. The five-match T20 series between India and Australia will be played in November-December after the end of World Cup 2023. Starting from 23rd November.
Cricket Australia said that Wade has been made captain on an interim basis. Wade has not played a single international match since the T20 World Cup last year. Finch retired in February this year and Australia don’t seem to be in any rush to appoint a permanent captain. Cricket Australia said, Wade has led the team before and we expect him in this series.
