Pakistan name 15-member squad for Asian Games 2023, uncapped all-rounder Qasim Akram to lead
The Pakistan Cricket Team has announced its 15-member squad for the Asian Games 2023. The team has been captained by uncapped all-rounder Qasim Akram. While Omar bin Yusuf will be seen in the role of vice captain. Apart from this, the responsibility of wicketkeeping has been entrusted to Muhammad Akhlaq.
Qasim Akram’s Cricket Career : Qasim Akram led the Pakistan U-19 team in the U-19 World Cup last year. However, he is yet to get an opportunity to play an international match. The 20-year-old all-rounder has so far played 20 first-class, 45 list ‘A’ and 40 T20 matches for the green team in domestic cricket.
He has scored 960 runs at an average of 40.00 in 27 innings of first class cricket. Akram has two centuries and four fifties in first class. While in the List ‘A’ match, he has scored 1305 runs in 43 innings at an average of 35.27. Has scored two centuries and a half century in List ‘A’. In T20, Akram scored 468 runs in 32 innings at an average of 18.00.
Qasim Akram has scored 27 at an average of 40.29 in 34 innings of first-class cricket, 35 at an average of 39.71 in 40 innings of List ‘A’ and 17 at an average of 27.05 in 23 innings of T20.
