The pair of Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran created history, made a big record for Afghanistan
Afghanistan has won the series by winning the second consecutive match of the three-match ODI series played between Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh by 142 runs in the second ODI. In this match, the opening pair of Afghanistan created history. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran, who came on the opening, made the biggest partnership in ODIs for Afghanistan.
Both the batsmen came to break the 10 year old record. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran shared a partnership of 256 runs in 221 balls for the first wicket. During this, both the batsmen had scored a century. Gurbaz scored 145 runs in 125 balls with the help of 13 fours and 8 sixes while Ibrahim Zadran scored 100 runs in 119 balls with the help of 9 fours and 1 six.
Earlier, the record of making the biggest partnership in ODIs for Afghanistan was registered in the name of Karim Sadiq and Mohammad Shahzad. Both batsmen shared a 218-run partnership for Afghanistan in ODIs against Scotland in 2010.
With this, Afghanistan won the ODI series for the first time against Bangladesh. Talking about the match, Bangladesh had decided to bowl before winning the toss. Afghanistan’s team came out to bat and scored 331 runs in 9 wickets in 50 overs.
Apart from Gurbaz and Zadran’s century, Mohammad Nabi scored 25 runs and Najibullah Zadran scored 10 runs for the team. Apart from this, no batsman could cross the double figure. Chasing the target, the Bangladesh team was all out for 189 runs in 43.2 overs. Wicketkeeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim played the biggest inning of 69 runs for the team.
