Meanwhile, a total of 55 matches will be played in 27 days. At the same time, for the first time in the history of the T20 World Cup, 20 teams will be seen playing in the event. For the first time in the 147-year history of cricket, the ICC is going to host one of its global events in America.
The T20 World Cup matches will be held in a total of 10 cities in America and West Indies. In this regard, all venues and dates of matches will also be announced soon. Apart from Florida, the 4 American cities where the matches will be held include Morrisville, Dallas and New York. It has only hosted international matches in Florida so far, not a single match has been held in stadiums in the other three cities.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will see 20 teams participating, with 15 teams having so far qualified for the main tournament. The top-eight teams in the T-20 World Cup to be held in the year 2022 have qualified directly for the main tournament. Apart from this, in addition to Ireland and Scotland, the team of Papua New Guinea has also qualified for the main tournament.
20 teams will be divided into 4 groups of 5, after which 40 group matches will be played and top-2 teams from all groups will qualify for Super-8. From here, 4 teams will qualify for the semi-finals and the title match will be played on June 30. For the first time in the history of the T20 World Cup, more than 50 matches will be played.
